Clarity - Canadian Star Diamond Information
Diamonds are extracted from carbon deep beneath the earth and are creations of nature through millions of years of intense heat and pressure resulting in the presence of a number of natural characteristics. These natural imperfections or impurities both on and within the stone, along with the frequency, size and position each determines diamonds clarity. These flaws or inclusions are unique to each stone and are determined solely by nature and are truly Mother natures birth marks.
Diamonds with few inclusions are rarest and considered to be more beautiful and subsequently more valuable. Because most inclusions are not visible to the naked eye, they are generally viewed through a form of magnification. Gemologists commonly use a 10x magnification lens known as a ‘loupe’ to determine the size, type and location of any imperfections or flaws.
